His main research activities deal with: design and energy efficiency of agroindustrial buildings; GIS multicriteria analyses and agri-food chains planning. Patrizia Tassinari (female). Full Professor of Agricultural Engineering at DISTAL, coordinator of the Rural Buildings research group. Main research fields: design of farm, livestock and food-processing buildings; rural planning; energy efficiency; PLF. In her career she has coordinated many international and national projects. Coordinator of the ‘Health, Safety and Green Systems’ PhD, chairman of EurAgEng WG Rural Buildings&Landscape, President of the 2nd section of Italian Association of Agricultural Engineering, Rector's delegate for UNIBO’s Imola district, UNIBO Representative in UNISCAPE, Section editor of Agricultural Engineering International CIGR Journal.

Stefano Benni (male). Assistant Professor of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at DISTAL. His main activities deal with energy efficiency improvement in farm buildings and food processing facilities; CFD modelling. He is member of the board of the PhD in Health, Safety and Green Systems of UNIBO and director of the training course 'Drafting and CAD for design in agriculture'.

Jacopo Bacenetti (male, P.I.) graduated in Sciences of Crop Production and Protection at UNIMI. Since September 2016, he is researcher (on fix term) at the Department of Environmental Science and Policy of UNIMI. Since 2015, he is member of AgriFood LCA Laboratory (http://sites.unimi.it/agrifood_lcalab/), a multidisciplinary laboratory for the application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to agricultural and industrial systems. His research activity focuses on the application of LCA approach to agricultural processes with various collaborations with academic and private partners at international level, such as Department of Chemical Engineering of Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Sustainable Industrial Systems Group of the University of Manchester.).

Marcella Guarino (female) is Associate Professor since 2016. She received his PhD in Animal Husbandry at UNIMI in 1996. Since 1992 she has been facing the big problem concerning the relation between livestock structures and the environment. Formerly she took charge of research projects focusing on the climatization control in animal husbandry. To this purpose she has been involved in many researches and on studying committees both at regional and national level. Today she is carrying out her scientific activity at the Bioengineering and Environment Laboratory working on researches addressed to environmental problem, air indoor quality, and Precision livestock farming (PLF).

Doriana Eurosia Angela Tedesco (female) is Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Science and Policy (ESP), UNIMI. Her research activities are mainly focused to study the assessment of vegetable waste from plants/herbs, plant/herb extracts for use in animal production. Her research activity is performed considering: waste management and recycling, increasing energy efficiency and sustainable reindustrialisation of the economy increasing resource productivity.

Joël Aubin (male, P.I.) Research Engineer, PhD, 51 years. He works for 15 years on LCA adaptation to aquaculture. He was the former team leader of environmental assessment and agriculture system design group. He is the manager of the multicriteria assessment platform MEANS. He manages the Eranet-COFASP IMTA-Effect project. He led also PISCENLIT Projet (ANR) about ecological intensification in aquaculture. In SIMTAP project, he will be in charge of the environmental assessment and multicriteria assessment methodologies, and will lead the WP5. He will participate to SIMTAP design in LML.

Aurélie Wilfart (female) Research Engineer, PhD, 38 years. She works for 10 years on environmental assessment of livestock systems using LCA and Emergy accounting. She is specialist in nutrition and in environmental optimisation of livestock systems. She was the leader of the national environmental database of ingredients for livestock (ECOALIM database). She has experience on aquaculture also (Piscenlit and Servipond Projects). In SIMTAP project she will be in charge of Emergy accounting and LCA.

Christophe Jaeger (male) Study Engineer, MD, 42 years. He is specialised in nutrient budget in aquaculture systems. He has experience in fresh water polyculture systems and Aquaponics. In SIMTAP he will be in charge of the nutrient budget and will participate to the design of the LML Simtap. He will participate to the environmental assessment of the different systems using mass balance, LCA and Emergy accounting.

Nouraya Akkal-Corfini (female) Study Engineer, PhD, 54 years. She is a specialist in vegetable production system design and assessment. She is involved in several project about the multicriteria performance assessment of cropping systems using Dexi modelling. She will be in charge of multicriteria assessment design and Dexi modelling application.

Marc Roucaute (male) Research Technician, 42 years. He is specialist in aquatic and terrestrial invertebrates taxonomy. He will be in charge in biodiversity assessment of LML SIMTAP.

Vincent Gayet (male, P.I.) aquaculture teacher, BD, 43 years. He worked for 13 years in an experimental fish farm at INRA (partner in SIMTAP), and has been teaching aquaculture for 7 years. He is competent in the practical design and the follow-up of experimentation in aquaculture (systems of breeding, physiology, genetics, nutrition). He managed an experiment with fish farmers aiming at the management of solid fish releases. He participated in the design, construction and characterization of a large volume experimental Recirculating Aquaculture System at INRA Experimental fish farming from the Arrée Monts (PEIMA). He is project manager in the design and construction of an aquaculture technology hall (600m2) in the high school of the sea and the coast.

Marie Durollet (female) aquaculture teacher, PhD, 32 years. She has the capacity to conduct a research project and to ensure its scientific writing. She is competent in the physiology of aquatic organisms and more particularly aquatic vertebrates. She has experience in coaching trainees.

Thomas Jamet (male) aquaculture teacher, BD, 42 years. He has 15 years of experience in aquaculture, and he has been teaching aquaculture for 5 years. He created and operating for 12 years one of the only two shrimp hatchery (Penaeus japonicus). He realized a breeding associated oysters/shrimps. He has hands-on knowledge in algae production and fish farming.

Mehmet Ali Turan Koçer (male, P.I.) is head of the department of “Environment and Resource Management” in MEDFRI. He has experience in environmental monitoring and management with the special issues on eutrophication and microalgae. In recent years, he has focused on environmental impacts and management of aquaculture. He produced more than 40 national and international papers. He will be the principal investigator of the proposed research from MEDFRI and deal with microalgae culture and water/mass balance modelling in the prototype to be installed besides the role of coordination of all activities of MEDFRI.

Hüseyin Sevgili (male) is associate professor and head of the department of “Fish Breeding and Genetics” in the institute. Besides his scientific expertise in fish nutrition, he has participated and co-ordinated international and EU projects (COFASP).

Mahir Kanyılmaz (male) is associate professor and vice director of the institute. Having had his PhD in gilthead seabream nutrition, he has more than 25 years of research experience in both freshwater and marine aquaculture.

Murat Yeşiltaş (male) is a researcher in MEDFRI. He is continuing to postgraduate education related with microalgae culture. He will be responsible for polychaete and microalgae culture in the prototype of MEDFRI.

Serkan Erkan (male) is a researcher especially related in aquatic macrophytes and macroalgae. He has experience in plant culture as an agriculture engineer. He will be focused on halophyte plants and macroalgae culture in the prototype of MEDFRI.

Özgür Aktaş (male) is head of the laboratory unit on the physical and chemical analysis in the institute as an analytical chemist. He will be responsible for the coordination of laboratory works.

Durali Eraslan (male) is a researcher on finfish aquaculture and has experience on larval nutrition and live feed production. He will be responsible for finfish growth and management of the recycled system.

İsa Aydın (male) is a researcher related in finfish aquaculture in MEDFRI. He has an experience of more than 20 years on marine finfish breeding and will be responsible for the experiments and growth of finfish in the prototype besides assistance to works of the other compartments.

Adem Kurtoğlu (male) is a researcher in finfish aquaculture in MEDFRI. He has also a huge experience with more than 20 years on marine finfish breeding. He will be responsible for experiments and growth of finfish in the prototype in addition to assistance to works of the other compartments.

Şefik Güney (male) is a researcher in finfish aquaculture and fish health in MEDFRI. He will be responsible for experiments and growth of finfish and polychaete in the prototype as well as assistance to works of the other compartments.

Murat Aytürk İslam (male) is a veterinary in the institute and will be responsible for works on fish health and welfare during the experiments and growth of finfish.
